Quaker Meeting House, 490 19th St. NE, (D)
In 1913, under the leadership of pastor, Rev. J. T. Little, the Salem First Church of the Nazarene purchased this lot. The congregation met in a tent until the church was completed. An illustration of the former Nazarene Church building with a prominent sign identifying the Four Square Church is dated 1937. It was purchased by the Unitarians in the 1950s and by the Society of Friends in 1997. Because of ADA requirements, another building, without steps, must be found for the congregation.
