Kelly-Lulay, 1795 Cottage Street SE, (LL)

W. E. Johnson, owner and resident of this American Foursquare residence for many years, became associated with the property in 1910 when he purchased it from the Star Land Company. Johnson is listed here in 1921 with his occupation stated as farmer in the Salem City Directory. Later residents were renters, indicating the house was a rental, later divided into apartments. A 1940s resident was Paul Hansen, a blind mathematics teacher who received a special citation from the Governor's Committee on Employment of the Handicapped.
