Jason Lee Cemetery, 21st and D St. NE (LL)

The first known burial here was that of Jason Lee’s second wife, Lucy, in 1842. The body of his first wife, Anna Maria and their infant daughter was moved here later. Other pioneers and missionaries of the Methodist Mission were buried here, re-interred at this location. The cemetery continues to be used to the present time, now having over 3000 grave sites. Recent historical significance has been added with a memorial to Jason Lee.
